GURMEET SINGH

Gurmeet Singh an India based Music Composer happens to be the son of celebrated Music Composer from bollywood an Icon UTTAM SINGH.​

 

Right from childhood Gurmeet was brought up in a musical environment. He inherited the creativity of his Grand Parents & Parents and started singing at a very young age under the guidance of his Late Grand Father BRIDHPAL SINGH & Late ​Grand Mother JASWANT KAUR.​

 

At a very young age he sang a background song - “Twinkle twinkle little star” for the now world renowned actor Salman Khan in the blockbuster film - Maine Pyar Kiya (1989).

 

Subsequently he took lessons for Violin under the supervision of MYRA MENZIE and YEVONNE HEREDIA. At the same time he learned piano with ETHEL ETHAED.

 

In the year 1997 through a correspondence course for Theory & Practical of Music from THE ROYAL SCHOOLS OF MUSIC he passed out in distinction.​

 

In 1998 he composed, Arranged and Orchestrated for his first music album RAHUL produced by Times Music.​​

 

He then ventured into Films by arranging songs, composing & orchestrating background scores for films like:- Prem Pujari (1999), Gadar-Ek Prem Katha (2001), The Hero Love Story Of A Spy (2003), Pinjar (2003), Hum Jo Keh Na Paye (2005), Kacchi Sadak (2006), Devdas - Pakistan (2010), Baba Deep Singh Ji (Regional) amongst a host of others.

 

He had the good fortune to be associated for composing, arranging & orchestrating with the Legendary Music Director LATE NAUSHAD ALI for the film - Taj Mahal an Eternal Love Story released in 2005.

He also assisted NAUSHAD in recreating the sound tracks and background score of the Iconic 1960 film - Mughal-E-Azam in dolby surround released in 2004 which is a history today.​

 

Apart of being a part of the popular film music industry he also composed a song for Women Welfare Organization a project of Government of India which was sung by none other than his sister Preeti Uttam.

 

Lately he scored for a Sikh spiritual album sung by celebrated Raagi Baljeet Singh and melodious Shreya Ghoshal called SIMAR MANA released in (2012) in UK & (2013) India for which he recorded in Mumbai - Chennai - London.

In London he recorded in one of the best studios of the world - Air Lyndhurst and mastered the project in Legendary Abbey Road. Musicians who play for London Symphony Orchestra and Telefilmonic have played for the same.​

 

Post Simar Mana, he scored background music for his father's movie - Rajjo.

 

Life never stops and so is Gurmeet always finding new paths and destinations in his musical journey. He has achieved many laurels in life but his best is yet to come.​
